Aynor Medical Center Breaks Ground

Marion, SC— Marion Regional Healthcare System hosted a groundbreaking ceremony this morning for their newest family medical facility, The Aynor Medical Center, in Aynor, South Carolina.

According to Gene Tucker, CEO of Marion Regional Healthcare System, “Our expansion into Aynor was a natural choice.  We have always enjoyed our relationship with the Aynor community.  A great majority of our employees and patients reside in Western Horry County.  Our goal with this facility is to greater server the needs of our surrounding communities.”

The Aynor Medical Center is a million dollar project that will not only provide increased access to healthcare in this community, but will stimulate the local economy by providing additional healthcare and administrative jobs.  The facility is designed to office two physicians, a nurse practitioner and provide Radiology and laboratory services.  Marion Regional Healthcare System also plans to provide pediatric and OB/GYN clinics in the near future. 

This 282,000 square foot facility will be located just off HWY501 between Hickory Street and 11th Street and is slated to begin seeing patients early Fall of 2009.  

Marion Regional Healthcare System has been recognized statewide for its community health initiatives.
